Alzheimer’s disease – reaZin

Adeona is developing reaZin™, its product candidate for the dietary management of zinc deficiency associated with Alzheimer's disease, as a prescription medical food.  reaZin (zinc cysteine) is a proprietary, once-daily, gastroretentive, sustained-release, oral tablet formulation of zinc and cysteine (an amino acid with potent anti-oxidant properties).

reaZin is a unique zinc and cysteine-based formulation developed by Adeona to achieve the following:

• the convenience of a once-daily dose
• high bioavailability (the quantity or fraction of the ingested dose that is absorbed by the body)
• the ability to minimize gastrointestinal side effects of oral zinc therapy
